      A: All our sunscreens provide broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.  In addition, every sunscreen we carry is PABA-free and unscented.

      DIRECTIONS: Apply Solbar 50 liberally and evenly to all exposed areas of dry skin 15-20 minutes before sun exposure and massage in gently. Reapply to dry skin after prolonged swimming, outdoor physical activity, excessive perspiration, or towel drying. Dermatologists recommend reapplying sunscreen during prolonged swimming sun exposure every 2 hours. Children under 6 months of age: consult a physician.

       

      Uses: Higher SPF gives more sunburn protection.

       

      Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes with water. Keep out of the reach of children. Keep at room temperature.

       

      Stop use and ask a doctor if: Condition worsens or does not improve after regular use.

       

      Keep out of reach of children: If swallowed, seek medical help, or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

      Limiting sun exposure, wearing protective clothing, and using sunscreens may reduce the risk of skin aging, skin cancer and other harmful effects of the sun.

      Not Just a Sunscreen

      As a person with Melanoma, this was prescribed to me by my doctor. It also makes a great base under makeup!

      I like the fact that is very creamy. I have dry skin and use it under makeup. Not for oily skin for sure. It doesn't have a scent.

      Allergenic for Me

      I've used Solbar 38 for years, but decided to try the Solbar Fifty this summer. I used it on my face and neck when working outside. It offers great protection, but I realized I was allergic to it. The allergic reaction was NOT a skin rash. Just having it on my face inflamed my sinuses and created a sensation of pressure behind my eyes. I was very careful not to actually get it in my eyes. I just turned out to be really sensitive to it and felt it was important to write this review since it's easy to have the misconception that an allergic reaction to something you're putting on your face is always going to be a rash. I knew that this sunscreen was all chemical, not mineral, but was willing to use it for the added protection. I'm sorry it didn't work for me and I'm sorry it took me as long as it did to "put two and two together" and stop using the product. I'll also confirm an earlier reviewer's comment about the gritty texture of the product. So, I've gone back to using the Solbar 38, which is a mix of chemical and mineral sunscreens and I've had no problems with it. I use it everyday, all year round, like the way some women put on foundation. I've been wearing sunscreen daily for over 35 years now, and I'd be a spotty red mess without it. I'm thankful for Person and Covey's fragrance free products.
